Please suggest -smoke from sata harddisk

Hi friends,
6 months ago i bought an sata external casing,
used a 500 gb wd sata harddisk with it,then put that hdd in system and
put a 250 gb pata harddisk in it[by changing the cables that came with it]
today i purchased a samsung harddisk -sata 1 tb[ HD103UJ 1TB for Rs 4700] in lucknow
on return i put old sata cables[with sata power supply] in casing to test it[in open without encasing the steel cover]
but as soon as the power was on
a smoke and [some] burning like smell camed
and the smoke was coming from sata hdd's power pin
and now what to do,
i searched in google but found no reason for it,
and also
is it[samsung harddisk] can be exchanged,and what reason to give,
please relpy soon as i am getting very nervous,

This also happs with me but brand is seagate., First i think that power code is culprit i change the power cod. and when i starts the computer the power cable of the hard disk start burning and lot of smoke come. And i gain try the different power cable same happs.
And at last the conclusion is that the hard disk itself is culprit.
And the good news is that the seagate change my drive.
If u samsung drive is in warranty i think they should change the drive.
