Default CRT Monitor Problem

Got a 17 inch Samsung 753s CRT monitor.

Noticed a wierd problem since last few days. Theres a whitish haze on the screen and black color doesnt display as pure black, it displays as dark grey.

Went into the Intel Graphics Controller properties and found that Video Black Levels were elevated(see screen1)

Decreased the Video Black Levels to the following settings

Now the screen looks perfect and black is displayed as pure black

But when I restart the machine the Video Black Levels go back to their increased values and black is again getting displayed as dark grey. The graphics controller is not saving the Video Black Level properties

Any Solution for this? Is this a hardware or software problem?

Already reinstalled drivers for monitor, chipset and graphics accelerator, problem doesnt go away.

My system is P4 1.6 Ghz, Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd. 8I845GVMRZ 1.x motherboard,
Intel(R) 82845G/GL/GE/PE/GV Graphics Controller and 1 GB of RAM

Any help guys?

Clicking your first thumbnail also opened a porn site. That's a good way to get infected with malware, so I didn't bother with the other thumbnails. I suggest you use one of the many other free image hosting sites.

It does not sound like a hardware defect, and since reinstalling the drivers didn't help, it's likely to be a virus. The fact that the settings reverted by themselves is a strong indication.

@pimpon

already scanned with eset nod32 and spybotSD: no viruses.

The problem is with the monitor i think, cos when i switch of the monitor, while the cpu is on, the same problem happens.

btw thanks for the suggestion pimpon

maybe its time to get a samsung 2233SW
