Default Laptop Decision

Hi,

My friend wants to buy a laptop, and the budget is maximum 35K, can go upto 37K (this would include VAT/Shipping/Accessories)

Requirements:

1. Non Gaming.
2. Non programming.
3. Original OS.
4. Good looks.

I narrowed down to the two:

1. DELL Inspiron 15" (S540503IN8 ) - ~RS. 36,900
Intel C2D T6500
3GB RAM
320GB HDD
15.6" Display
Intel Graphics Accelerator 4500
Vista Premium x32

2. LENOVO G - 430 Series (4152C2Q) - ~RS. 35,000
Intel C2D T6400
3GB RAM
250GB HDD
14.1" Display
Intel Graphics Accelerator 4500
Vista Basic x32
Integrated Camera with Face Recognition

Both have:

1. Card Readers.
2. DVD +RW.
3. Carry bag.

Which would be a better option. I do not have any experience with Lenovo. Other suggestions are most welcome.

thanks...

Anil

Go with the Dell one, within 2 models. You will not have to worry about after sales service. And Also that inspiron model is coming with optional Blu-ray drive (At the cost 0f 5K). So later on you can also see blu-ray on your lappy.
Plus this will be coming with HD ready 720p (13xx X 720) resolution.

Compared to Lenovo It's having bigger screen, Vista Premium, and wide range of upgrade options.

But including VAT/TAX these laptops will cost you beyond 37K IMO.

Here are some other models for you.
1) Compaq Presario CQ40-317TU Notebook PC (NJ182PA)
http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/in/en/ho/WF06b/321957-321957-3329742-89318-89318-3781140-3870911.html
8)2) Dell Inspiron 14-Back to college
http://www1.ap.dell.com/in/en/home/n...=dhs&cs=indhs1
3) HCL Leaptop K38
http://www.hclleaptops.in/

(Prices are alredy indicated in related pages)

There are other brands Like HCL, Acer, Toshiba etc etc. as you know.
But IMO I would go with Dell Inspiron 14 BAck to college edition.
IT will definitely get covered within you budget. And You will enjoy with your lappy.
