Some people will probably find it usedul and/or interesting. But ----

1. You are probably violating copyright by posting someone else's work that obviously involved a lot of time and effort.

2. It would have been better to post a link and some explanation of what to expect. This is not only because of the copyright issue, but also because loading a 3MB picture file can be a burden for those with slow connections and those with low bandwidth limits.

Good to see that you took my comments seriously, but it's not necessary to have the thread deleted. You could just substitute the image with a link to the web page and give a brief explanation of what it is. I'm sure some readers will find it useful.

You're not getting the point. I'm neither an Admin nor a Mod in TDF and I have no authority over someone's post. I just pointed out something that was morally wrong and could be legally wrong too.

I'm sure you did not mean any harm. You just posted the image without thinking. You did well to retract your post. But you deliberately posted it again in another forum, and that's another matter entirely.

It doesn't matter where you post it - in TDF or some other forum. Making public use of someone's hard work without their permission is wrong. Maybe the other forum made it a sticky without thinking. Maybe they don't care about violating someone's rights.

Suppose you spent hours or days coding a piece of software and someone made it public without your permission. How would you feel?

Viewing and downloading it for personal use is not, repeat NOT, the same as redistributing or posting it to a public forum.

Some people write good programs and make them available for free. Some of them even provide the source code. But some of them permit only single personal use. Some allow only online installation from their website.

Read their ToS (Terms of Service). Here's an extract:

"You may not reproduce, distribute, publicly display or perform, or prepare derivative works based on any of the Content including any such works without the express, written consent of deviantART or the appropriate owner of copyright in such works."

Do you have a written consent?

In fact, unless you have read specifically that free distribution is permitted without prior permission, you should always assume that there is some restriction.

It's really immature to make an implied insult of the whole forum just because an ordinary member, namely me, made some constructive criticism and friendly suggestions. Now I'm not feeling so friendly anymore.

OK, no hard feelings.

On thing though: when I responded to your comment about the forum members, I thought you were making a sarcastic negative remark. That's why I replied as I did. If you did not mean it as such, I made the wrong interpretation and I apologise.
