Gaming Laptop
I am planning to purchase a good perfomance Laptop of Dell. Here is my requirement.
1) CPU : Intel Core 2 Duo, Laptop / Mobile Equivalent of E8400 (What will it be?)
2) HDD : Min 250 - 300 GB
3) GPU : Laptop / Mobile of HD 4850 (What will it be?)
4) Display : 17 Inch
5) RAM : DDR2 4GB (As good as G-Skill or Corsair)
E8400 Wolfdale would probably be best resembled by a T9800 and Mobility Radeon HD4850 would be the mobile version of the HD4850. So Dell Alienware seems to be the only choice. However no information is given in Indian Dell website. Does anyone have any idea, how much will these laptops cost in Indian markets??
Thanks in Advance

4GB DDR2
Windows Vista Home Premium
15.6" 16:9 LCD Display
HD3670
That's the best u can get for a reasonable price.

Re: Gaming Laptop
Remember, the 9600GT Mobile is actually a desktop 9500GT.
Thus getting a HD4670 is a much better option, or for the matter HD4570, as both are equally good or better infact.

Re: Gaming Laptop
wrong. HD4570, though faster has just 64 bit bus compared to 128-bit 9600m GT.
So 9600M GT is better, and none of them come near to HD4670 or HD4650 for that matter.
Remember about ati line up
HD43xx<HD45xx<HD46xx, and the difference between HD45xx and HD46xx is just double.
9600M GT is better than 9500GT
also lil check in bechmark listing for notebook gfx http://www.notebookcheck.net/Mobile-...ist.844.0.html
there is a HP model with ati mobile HD4650 and 1GB but with AMD mobile proccy. And if we say in that way, I do not understand why model with 9600M GT are costlier than better HD4650 model.

Re: Gaming Laptop
But How about laptops n India?
I think there are quite few models available for casual gaming
like XPS 16, DV6 and Studio 1555
XPS 16 is of course over-priced with ATI Mobility HD3670 - 68K
HP Pavillion DV6 is coming with decent HD4650 - 60K with C2D T9550
And Studio 1555 is coming with HD4570 -65K
Also these laptops are only for casual gaming at Mid settings
MSI is there, but where to find it?
Is there any other lappy other then these? Especially with good gaming GPU?

Re: Gaming Laptop
DV6 looks better with HD4650 compared to XPS 16. HD4650 is lot lot lot better than HD3670. And still you are paying 8k less.

Re: Gaming Laptop
Option 1
If some of your friend or relative is coming from US tell them to purchase a laptop from there and bring it to india
Option 2
USA website of Alienware/Dell does not have a shipping option to India.
But UK website has. go to www.dell.co.uk
Go to the website, configure your system, and finally add your configed system to cart . After doing that, click on 'countinue to checkout'. Register, and choose your shipping country. India is listed over there.
If you order through UK website you will be able to purchase alienware lappy. They will legitimately ship lappy to India
But the thing is It will cost you a bit, not a bit but too much extra.
You will be paying for lappy in Pound, plus shipping will be costing you extra.
If you have too much money then purchase your lappy from alienware.
Alienware lappy are excellently built, damn G products , but they are over-priced as well
