Default How to connect Desktop with Laptop

Hi Friends,

I have desktop whose hard drive is not working .. and I want to format it.... when I start the Desktop Delete key and Fn keys are not working so I am not able to get into Bios.... Now my idea is to conect desktop hard drive or desktop itself with me laptop and format the Hard drive with the help of Lappy....

Can any body tell me whether this is possible or not... if yes then plz let me know how to do this.. thanks in advance.

PLZ bear in mind tht desktop is not working as i am not able to get into Bios.... ubuntu is installed on it.... but not able to log in... as I have forgetten the password... tht is also dead.

Thanks in advance.

You can buy a IDE to USB converter and plug the hard drive to your laptop. I am assuming that you have an IDE hard disk.
I have used one for a long time and when i bought it around 1.5 years back it cost me around 600 bucks. Should be available for pretty less now.
