which is the best external hard disk

I want to buy an external hard disk in the range of Rs.2500-Rs.3500.
I dont wana travel with it frequently so portability is not much needed.

I want good transfer rates & good life of hard disk..

kindly suggest me a good hard disk..I'm confused b/w transcend & western digital.
Is seagate also good?

western digital is best with best support.

WD is no doubt the best one but it comes with a 3 yr warranty.
Seagate HDDs have 5 yr warranty and service is as good as WD.
Then there are many brands mostly with 3 yr warranty like Transcend, Imation, Lacie etc.
If portability is not an issue then go for 3.5" drive as it is cheaper than the smaller ones.

u can extend u r budget by 400/- and u can go for 320GB

you can get 250GB external in around 3K, check for WD Passport or Transcend.

is it Passport or Essential model, nyways nice buy 160GB becomes more than enough though we will never get satisfied even if one 1TB will cost 100 bucks giggles
