Default Connecting two pcs through USB-LAN cabl through Router


Hi all,

actually i hav two desktop PCS....both having XP OS,Ethernet socket ,USB sockets

cables-Two Normal Ethernet CAT5(white one),USB cable that came with huwaei modem.I DON HAV CROSS OVER(YELLOW) CABLE.


modem: Huwaei MT882 router(BSNL one--USB n LAN with ADSL sockets behind it)

i want to connect the two pcs using router...one pc connected through USB to router n other through Ethernet

after connecting i get USB-LAN networks shown active on both pc's but ...ping test fails...connectivity is failing...

set both workgrp name same,even enabled file sharing,,..nothing works

any mistake i hav done...i set same gate way 192.168.1.1 for both n/ws

pcs i/p's
192.168.1.10
192.1681.11

any mistake or i did anythng wrong?pls help
