Help....Gaming PC....50K
Hello guys.....
I really need your opinion about my configuration. I am going to assemble my new PC in the coming 5 days. My budget is about 50k. Following is the confiig:
AMD Phenom 2 940 BE (10.8k)
Motherboard Need suggestions, ASUS/Gigabyte/any other - (5k) ???
Corsair 3GB DDR2-800 (2.3k)
Palit GTX 260 Sonic 216 896 MB (11k)
WD 500GB 32MB HDD (3.1k)
Sony DVD/RW 22X (1.3k)
NZXT Guardian 921 Cabinet (4.5k)
Antec EA650 or Corsair 550VX (4.8K / 5.5k) ???
Samsung 2233SW 21.5 LCD (10.1k)
Total 53k
Please feel free to suggeest any other configs and do suggest a good mobo for 5k which is good for gaming and moderate overclocking. The sole purpose of the system is Gaming....
I have quoted prices from Lynx-India.com.....Is this site safe for purchasing and are the prices correct?
In my city the dealers quote more price for the same components.
I also have the option of ordering these from Tirupati Enterprise, whose owner is my friends bro....
Waiting for ur suggestions......

Re: Help....Gaming PC....50K
Gigabyte MA78GM-US2H mobo for 5.1k or Jetway HA-07 Ultra for 6k
for PSU, I would pick Corsair.
For RAM get 2x2GB Corsair XMS2 for 3k. And install 64bit OS.
For Cabinet, I would pick Cooler Master CM 690 over NZXT Guardian 921 as it has room for 8 fans and that helps cooling a lot and both are at same price.

Re: Help....Gaming PC....50K
moreover, apart from LCD, I don't find anything worth in NZXT Guardian 921 for 4k+ bucks.

Re: Help....Gaming PC....50K
VX550W any day(acc to me)! - 5.8k
Get LG 22x SATA instead - 1.1k
If u like it, u cn get the CM-690 - 4.5k
For a mobo u cn hv a look @ GA-MA-790GP-UD4H @ ~9k or any Gigabyte UD series board with the 780G chipset if u r really budget bound.
Spending less on mobo isnt so wise as if u r gonna be heavily gaming, u must have a board with a great build quality.
Corsair 3GB DDR2-800 – (2.3k)??? 3x1GB or 1x3GB?
Get 2x2GB for dual channel bandwidth utilisation, although ur choice is also good.

Re: Help....Gaming PC....50K
Antec EA 650 SLI is a real wise choice. Its seasonic OEM and has extreme vfm @ 4.8k
and everythin else looks fine. get the mobo suggested by desiibond
Samsung 22X sata burner might be better than Sony.

Intially i had also chosen cm690, but it has too many nets and meshes through which dust can settle inside the cabinet. I read good review on the net about guardian 921.....but do u have any other cabinets u can suggest at the same price...wat about thermaltake m9d or nzxt lexa?

Thnx for ur suggestion!!
But I read somewhere that biostar mobos are unstable with latest phenoms...is it true?
Will the Corsair 450vx suffice the gtx260 or 4890 u've mentioned?
Also I dont think its a good idea to spend 5k extra for about 5-8 fps max gain, since palit's 260 is already overclocked.....

Don't worry too much abt the dust settling as no matter what cabby u get, the dust is gonna enter and settle in! Hence don't let that affect ur choice as if u get urself a paintbrush + hand blower + dry cloth and clean ur case once every month, any cabinet will remain dust-free and cool. Remember to clean ur case regularly! I would still vouch for the CM-690 w/the transparent panel.

Re: Help....Gaming PC....50K
@ nsgage, the board I've mentioned won't give you a single problem. It's a new one with CFx support too.
Further, I suggest you can also buy a X3 720 B.E. instead!

Re: Help....Gaming PC....50K
ofcourse GTX 260 is much faster. GTX 260 216 competes with 4870 1GB.
And EA 650 has same OEM as Corsair VX. Both are seasonic. So EA 650 is as stable as 80+ efficient. It can be overloaded to 120%[like VX], upto 780W or even more.
CM 690 is good, but its kinda common now. The Guradian looms cool and reviews are good. Go for it.
And get 2x2Gb memory for problem free dual channel support. Some chipset suporrt variable size modules to run in dual channel, but some limitations. Better get two 2G identical 800Mhz chips.

One little correction. GTX 260 Core 216 are better than 4850 cards. They compete with the 4870 1GB version and is slightly better performer in normal condition (without tweaking). U can get the reviews from Guru3d.com. At 11k, they r really a very good buy.

Re: Help....Gaming PC....50K
but VX 450 is 450 and EA 650 is 650.
EA 650 is even better than VX 550[5.8k] and almost close to TX 650[7k]. and costs meagre 4.8k, though less warranty.

Re: Help....Gaming PC....50K
I seriously doubt dat it matches to a TX650 dude...and EA 650SLi is best for SLi setup, dats y everyone prefers GP-AL650AA over EA 650SLi for normal setup.

Re: Help....Gaming PC....50K
Wat more could u ask for, from an 84% efficient PSU[at specified max looad] wich overloads more than 120% stable and runs oober cool ?
Feature, warranty, looks dun come close to TX, but in shear power and stability, it do match close.

Re: Help....Gaming PC....50K
I'm still in doubt over the mobo....
Which one should I buy:
1. ASUS M3A78-EM (<5K)
2. ASUS M3N78-EM (<5K)
3. ASUS M4N78 PRO (6.5K, ATX, AM3 ready, looks good)
4. Gigabyte GA-MA78GMUS2H (<5k)
Please suggest the best value for money motherboard which is fast for gaming and can overclock in future....

Re: Help....Gaming PC....50K
Pick among 3 and 4. I would pick no.4, thanks to it's better PCB (2oz copper sandwiched).
Also check Jetway HA-07 Ultra.

But why you want compare EA 650w with TX 650w there is huge price difference in them and dOm1naTOr only typed "almost close to" (not head to head) and yes Antec EA 650w holds the best VFM tag in its price/performance range according to me.
