Default Weirdest problem I have ever encountered

It all started when I powered on my PC as usual but while the boot process was going on there was a message "lsass.exe Object Not Found" and the PC shut down. After some failed attempts to boot it up I tried the Safe Mode option but the result was the same and it was same for Safe Mode with command prompt and Last Known good config too.
Then I commenced testing the various issues and this made me bewildered. Initially I thought it might be a virus, tried to reinstall XP but before the recovery console screen could come it shut down again. I changed my RAM stick with another from a friend of mine and did the same thing changing it with a workable HDD that had OS loaded. Every time the result was the same.
Changed the data cable and replaced them with a new one, again the same fate. I took my HDD and attached it as a slave to another PC and the contents were intact. Even a virus scan did not reveal any infections.
Tell me what is going on.

Thanks Arun, I am going to try that now itself. But one thing to which I still could not find answers i.e. maybe its possible my HDD has got corrupt registry entries as suggested for the reason of that error to appear, but why did the same thing happen when I replaced my HDD with others.
