Default Low Write Speeds with Sata Samsung Dvd Writer

Hi,

I purchased a Sata Dvd Writer - Samsung SH-S223F around 2months ago.

Used it a to burn a few dvd's/cd's and all was fine.
but just the day b4 wen i used it to write a dvd at 8x speed and another at 16x

speed both the times it took almost an hour to burn the dvd.
The writing took nearly 45min and the verifying to another 10-15mins.

the dvd is fine, no errors, nothing. but then, any idea why the sudden drop in

speed of burning a Dvd.....

It is running on its latest firmware- SB03.

Is it a problem cuz of DMA or something. can i check it.
wen i checked with nero tools t shows DMA 5 Active on the drive.

Please advice me on the same

Thanks
