Laptop batteries

My laptops batteries are not charging up from about 3 months till now havn't bothered much as i don't take it out of my home. but they sometimes gets charged(like once in 2 weeks randomly) so are they dead?
if yes can i get them repaired.
whats the price of new one?
My laptop is Lenovo 3000 N100

my dell XPS had the same trouble. It wont charge beyond some 20% or so. Sometimes in a few days it ll reach 40 or 50% then stops.
Its surely battery problem, and i got mine replaced.

any chances of replacement the warranty period is over.
