Powersafe 500w gold is a local l&c make which the quality has dropped down over the years since the amd socket 939 days. Since you are spending its wise to buy something good which is powering your system and protecting the components at the same time. Stick to vx550. Alternates are cm real power 550w and/ antec ea 650w.

AT same price point or so you can have Antec EA-650 which is 80 plus certified much better then Tagan Stone Rock 600W PSU I studied it by comparisons and reviews on the net. WD 640gb AAKS blue power series also considerable at 3.5K.

Well no need to explain everything for you...
But here are few Suggestions...
* Get EVGA GTX260 Core 216 if u can....

* And Get WD640GB AAKS instead of Seagate 500GB..Almost cost the same(WD640GB is around 3.6k)

* As some one said, get 1066MHz RAM instead of 800MHz. Will feel the power when u start OCing(I hope u OC a lot.. )

Rest is fine....

LOL...He is looking for GTX260 and u suggesting him a GTS250...

BTW Zebronics SMPS suggestions is OK,but how reliable they are. As i come across many such cases with my company, considering Zeb PSUs, they were the most coming for RMA.. Not to spoil the brand but to reveal the truth. Even the gamer series fail to do its job..

nice config comp@ddict

try to get Asus M4A series if u can instead of Biostar 790G. Biostar is gud and vfm, but M4A is a much better choice in performance and O.C'ing

-Well, the Biostar 790GX is the best one in it's price class, so considering that.
-As for PSU, I'm either gonna get Tagan 600W or Corsair VX550W, not any other.

-Yesterday, I went to Nehru place, and the dealer said that a nVidia card on an AMD platform is not recommended. I rubbished it, but tell me, there isn't any such problem right?
-'m gonna get the Palit GTX260 SONIC only, from lynx-india, b'cuz of it's price, pre-OC, and DUAL FANS.

-As for RAM, I read in a review 2 years ago, that the performance difference between a 5-5-5-18 CAS RAM and a 4-4-4-12 CAS timing is 25%, can you believe it, 25% is a lot.
And this RAM is OC paradise, the G.Skill RAM, has heat spreader of it's own, and comes with 5 years warranty.

-As for HDD 'm gonna go for the 7200.12 500GB Seagate for Rs. 3,100, cuz I dun need so much space anywayz, and Seagate's Read/Write Speed exceeds any WD by a huge shot.

^^no. Phenom II required 790GX or 790FX to have better overclocking.

Moreover, MA78GM-S2HP doesn't have crossfire (only 1 PCI-E slot), what it does is it puts PCI-E graphics and onboard graphics into hybrid crossfire and there is only limited set of 3xxx series cards that work in hybrid crossfire mode.

You can also consider :-

AMD Phenom II 720 BE - 8k
Asus Silent Knight Cooler - 2.6k

Then overclock the beast.. it has a nice clock speed of 2.8 GHz and we're already hearing a lot of good things about this processor.. you may also be able to unlock the fourth core..

For graphics - 4870 with 1 GB GDDR5 is best..
Go for Jetway HA 07 Ultra mobo.. its damn awesome.. supports crossfire.. based on AMD 790 chipset.. and is definitely a looker..

^^Nope. Black Editions are always easier to overclock. And 920BE does not exist unless you mean you unlocked the 4th core from 720BE.

As for build, I think Biostar 790GX is best choice, as it has ACC and HD3300. Phenom II X3 720 BE as CPU because overclocking this will give better performance than using 920 stock, and at the same time its cheaper and allows you to get better GPU. And see if you can get that batch with unlockable core.

For GPU, I suggest WAIT. HD4890 or GTX275 ought to be comming to India soon. Save up 20K for one of those.

ya...u r right I mistook 920 as BE...but it is know as a better performer. btw all BEs r not dat easy to O.C., X2 7750BE is an example for dat

X2 7750BE was a 65nm AMD CPU. Most in this category suck for OCing.

Anyway, unless gaming is the only thing you want to do, I think 920 is better than 720. Much less a gamble. But for gamers, it makes a lot more sense to get 720BE and OC it to over 4GHz.

After unlock, the best OC till now was only 3.1GHz, rather I'd get the X4 920.
X4 920 goes to 3.75GHz stock cooling, X4 940 BE goes to 3.9GHz stable, 4.2Ghz(but unstable). So I think the best bet is X4 920.

I dun really need CFx, but I'll be going for the Biostar 790GX for about Rs. 4,600 only!!

As about HD4870, the GTX260 from Palit is stock OCed, cheaper than HD4870 1GB Palit dual sonic by Rs. 800, and the best part:-
-Palit GTX260 speeds beat a Sapphire HD4980(Core -901Mhz, Memory - 4000MHz).
-Bottom line, GTX260 is the winner here.

One peculiar thing about his procc is that it has everything similar(same) as the X3 8x50 CPUs and X4 9xx0 CPUs, only with two cores.
I was wondering, if someone tried the "Advanced Clock Calibration" trick on this CPU, what if it became a X4 xxxx, just a thought.

Well, most of the shops like Computer Empire and Cost by Cost are usually of everyday needs, like Pentium Dual Core, 9500GT, and the rest.

These are the two most popular shops, and anyone will tell you where they are. THey are on the 1st floor. But just towards the right of these shops, there's a big "ViewSOnic" banner, and a shop, which is more colourful than the rest.
When I entered there, I saw only high end components, and I knew that I had reached my destination.

Sure, it's a 790GX if I'm not wrong.

Well, it's most probably 6.5-7k, but I'll confirm.

Yeah its 790 GX based.. i couldn't find a board with single PCI-E slot with 790 GX chipset.. otherwise i would've gone for it.. the other thing is that it should be cheaper than Jetway board..

I guess you are speaking about SMC computers...I had walked in...he has good stuff..but could not find the 4870 Dual sonic (1 GB). Also he was quoting a Asus P5NQ-E for 11K -- and mentioned it has a nVidia chipset...!!!!!!

Though have you picked up anything from SMC..??
