Default Sony DVD/RW Problem

Hi Friends,
I was facing a problem with my DVD-RW that it was not reading DVD's. Now one more problem has raised, I have Nero 9 which was provided by Digit In December 2008, till last week my writer was fine, but today when i wen't to write a DVD, only one percent completed and it showed an error "Burning Disc Failed At 16x" and "Power Calibration Error".
What to do guys???
Is it the time to change the drive?

Go to bios and change the dvd drive settings to DMA mode. After that go to IDE/ATAPI controller under device manager and change the settings to DMA. restart system and give it a try again
OR
After changing/confirming that the dvd drive settings on the bios is on DMA, install this:

and restart.
See if the dvd is getting burnt. If not try on 8x. If that doesnt work try using cd burner xp. Let us know how it goes from here.
