DVD Drive not showing.

Friends,

Suddenly My Moserbaer LightScribe DVD Drive is not shown by Win XP from yesterday.
and its taking a long time at startup.
I have to manully select the Boot drive as hard disk.

Whats gone wrong.

My config.

Intel C2Duo E6750
4 Gb Ram Kingston DDR2 800 Mhz
8600 GT Palit super
Zebronics Lava cabinet with 400W PSU.
MSI P-35 Neo Motherboard.

Is that IDE or sata? Certain updates of windows xp made pio/dma to conflict.

Its connected via sata cable.

Is the drive getting detected on bios? Make sure the settings are on DMA on bios as well as IDE/ATAPI controller on device manager.

some time its gets and sometime not. and its set to Auto DMA mode.

If its getting detected sometimes then there's 4 possibilities:
Change the sata cable.
Try with a different sata power cable.
use a different sata connector on the mobo.
Your dvd drive is on the verge of dying.
