Default 5.1 Front right speaker volume less please help.

I have Altec Lansing VS3251 5.1speakers.
Recently I noticed that the volume from the front right speaker is very less compared to the volume from the other speakers.I tried reconnecting the wires. But it was of no use.
I connected the Front left speaker to the right speakr slot and even then the volume was less.
Please help..

Did you check the balance tab in volume control? BTW it also happens in my 2.1 speakers. I think the culprit of mine is that it fall from the table and broke something inside which gives some sound when I move the speaker upside down. Look at the volume control tab and try to install the drivers again. Also check if the wires have been eaten up which may lead to distortion and sound loss.

Sry for my late reply.
Me using windows XP.
I adjusted the balance for the front two speakers in the Realtek HD audio control panel and sorted the problem for now.I know it is not the permanent solution.I checked my cables and they are all ok.
