Default Hdd bad sector prbl.


I have Western digital 250 gb hdd.I want to check bad sector in hdd.Suggest any sftw for checking bad sector in hdd.

Install Tune Up Utilities and use Tune Up Disk Doctor

just use full format not the quick format feature of windows and then simply go to run->cmd->chkdsk c: or d: and so on according to the partition and see the result


188273767 KB total disk space.
31836 KB in 47 files.
44 KB in 24 indexes.
0 KB in bad sectors. (SEE this for bad sector)
84283 KB in use by the system.
65536 KB occupied by the log file.
188157604 KB available on disk.

4096 bytes in each allocation unit.
47068441 total allocation units on disk.
47039401 allocation units available on disk.


Note:Full format will take long time according to the size of the disk
