You seem to be spamming all over the forums and care a damn about forum etiquettes.

You could have just bumped your not so old topics but if this is going to your attitude towards things then do not expect any good advice.
In this day of age, best if you use an active pfc. I have seen cases where a non sine wave based ups makes a humming sound. Not sure about the damage, but if the ups is old then best if you get it changed. Never used a UPS so my expertise in that line is limited.

All the good PSUs these days like Corsair, Cooler Master, Tagan etc have Active Power Factor Correction and for that they need Pure Sine Wave input. In India u can easily find APC selling Pure Sine Wave UPS under Smart series. SUA, SURT these are some of the model families of APC. Get yurself one of these but if u need more backup time too, make sure the unit has ports for external battery pack. CAUTION Be Ready to spend big bucks as these things don't come cheap. I've got a APC SUA1000I Smart UPS, thats a 1KVA model and cost me 13K inclusive all taxes.

As far as I have seen from other forums, Simulated sine wave APC back ups model 1000 RS costs 6.5k. Someone bought this for 6.5k and works fantastic with corsair vx450.
