Exclamation pc problemmmm..........

my pc is a branded one..............
the problem is that it sometimes gets off suddenly and when i try to switch it back on nothing happens.......
after i switch the ups off and then switch on the ups,....the pc starts normally..and again gets off most probably within 5 minutes.......
but if i leave the system and ups off for a while and try to on the pc again...........it works fine for a longer while and some times gets off after some hours.............
its a branded hcl pc..........HCL ezeeBee
my pc configuration is
gigabyte 81845GVM-RZ Motherboard
processor Intel P4 2.26 GHz
seagate st340015A 40 gb ATA IDE 5400 rpm HDD
256 MB DDR RAM

i tried updating the bios.........
reflashed it to older version as i didn't get the hcl version of the bios

changed the CMOS battery.............
nothing works............
recently i discovered the power supply is a 300w HCL...........
but it had worked fine for about 4 years ..so there should not be any shortage of power.......
please please please i am not able to uderstand the problem
hope all details r given.help me solve this thing.

Do the usual:
# clean the cpu heatsink, fans, psu vents using unsed dry brush or can of compressed air only.
# Try with another (make sure its pretty decent one though) power supply.
# Change the thermal paste on the processor.

Google for orthos & core temp and download the software. Run the blend test for 4-5 hours time and leave the system idle. Let us know if the system restarts or if orthos gives error during the test. During this time check the temps as well. Let us know the temps when running orthos.

4 yyears is a LOT of time for a PSU....Get a different power supply and try.
