Default Seagate SATA 250 GB Bad Sectors

hi friends,

My Seagate 250 gb hdd has developed Bad Sectors. I have 3 partitions C, D and E and so far only on C drive bad sectors are to be detected.

Have a few questions -

1. Can i still use the other 2 partitions by formatting the C drive and not storing any data ?

2. Any way to Isolate the bad sectors so that it doesn't spread ?

3. What will delete partition do if i do it with C ? Will it delete C and the space and bad sectors will get mixed with D and E ?

4. I think a warranty may exist on it, whats the address of the service centre in Mumbai ? How many days will they take to replace it ?

Thanks!

Get it replaced. Back up the data. In any case prevention is better then cure. Why take chances? Replacement of seagate drives are taken care by accel frontline @ sakinaka.Call up yellow pages (28888888) for address and/or phone number.

I guess thats a better alternative to get it replaced. Just hoping that my warranty still exists.

Thanks!

I called up the general inquiry number for number/address for Accel Frontline, but they seem to have the wrong number (always no reply).

Anyone knows their recent active phone number/address ?
