Re: Pure Gaming Rig.. Nothing Else..
Stick to 1st Config.
The Motherboard is amazing. You can hook it to your LCD TV in living room. And pass the sound to your home theater via Optical Out.
Change the graphics Card to 9600GT.
Put a better PSU which suits this card.
May be CM 460, it costs 2.4k !!
Or try to get VIP Silver 400W Silver
Or look out for A SMPS that gives 26A on 12V Rail.
Look out for Powersafe/VIP PSU, they should cost you around 1.5k Or around.Sony Ericsson Flashing, Modding, Patching, Hacking And More !

Re: Pure Gaming Rig.. Nothing Else..
Its a AMD Motherboard. AMD CPUs. No restrictions on Graphics Cards.
It supports hybrid corssfire, but that's only when you use plugin a low end card.
9600GT will work great. Don't worry.
Just remove Catalyst drivers, Install nVidia Drivers.
Don't forget to Install ChipSet driver though.Last edited by a_k_s_h_a_y; 25-02-2009 at 09:10 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

Re: Pure Gaming Rig.. Nothing Else..
Wait for AMD Phenom II X3 720 Black Edition to hit India.
It beats ALL the BEST Wolfdale CPUs from Intel (E8200, E8400, etc) and has an extra core and overclocks beautifully.
All reviewers are suggesting it over wolfdales.http://TheSmallerBang.wordpress.com

Re: Pure Gaming Rig.. Nothing Else..
^^ AFAIK, it's price is around 170$ in USA (Rs.8.5k). right? And add to it customs etc, and it will be around 10k if I am correct.
And I already heard that with little bit of overclocking E7200 beats E8200 and this one's available for 5.5k here.

Phenom X3 720 running at 2.8GHz : $145
Phenom X3 710 running at 2.6GHz: $120
There is no difference between these two except the speed (which we can change if we have the right motherboard).
So, I think X3 710 is the better option IMO.
Note: For this processor to run in full glory, you need to find mobo that supports HyperTransport™ technology up to 4000MT/s full duplex, or up to 16.0GB/s I/O Bandwidth
HyperTransport™ technology up to 4000MT/s full duplex, or up to 16.0GB/s I/O Bandwidth is the same as HyperTransport speed of 2000Mhz
I would say Gigabyte GA-MA790GP-DS4H (790GX chipset) or GA-MA78G-DS3H (780G chipset with crossfireX) or GA-MA78G-DS3H (780G chipset)Last edited by desiibond; 26-02-2009 at 11:46 AM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

Re: Pure Gaming Rig.. Nothing Else..
X3 720 is BLACK EDITION. Means easier to get overclocks because you can just change the multiplier and nothing else.
And yeah, its not and CANT possibly be 10K. Phenom X4 810 is already 10K and everybody will buy it instead.http://TheSmallerBang.wordpress.com

Re: Pure Gaming Rig.. Nothing Else..
ah. missed that it is Black Edition. In that case, I too vote for X3 720 (unless Intel does a drastic price cut on E8200)

Re: Pure Gaming Rig.. Nothing Else..
Is Wolfdale getting older?? 'Cause I own a E8400, I thought of buying Q8200. Should I buy this proccy or should I wait and get II X3 720?? AMD's not that good in games compared to Intel's, right? Will this proccy be good enough in Games??
