Viewsonic LCD resolutions

I am planning to buy a new LCD monitor and need to choose from a 17" or 19" viewsonic TFT LCD. I wanted to know how a game in 1024 * 768 resolution or its wide screen counterpart will look on both of them. Will it be OK to use 1024*768 res on a 19" ? The price diff for both of them are not much.

A big no no for viewsonic screens. They have the worst after sales support.

nope. you have to play at native resolution on LCD.

I don't play most of the games at my screens native resolution(1440*900).Some games don't even show widescreen resolutions in video settings.In NFSMW for example cars look little fat but I have got used to it.

Finally if you want to play games released in last 3-4 years at your screen's native resolution, then graphic card is must for you.
Higher the resolution,Lower the details and zero the anisotropic filtering.
