you will need CM600watts for HD4850 and don't worry,4850 comes with a DVI-VGA converter.

4850--9k
phenom 2 940--14k
both the mobos you listed are good..you can get the asus for 6k and gigabyte for 5k.
that leaves you 1-2k for RAM..get 2gb for now and add 2 more later if you want.

off course Core2quad is better than phenom , but not phenom 2

dude phenom 2 reduced the price very low as u can see in NEWEGG

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819103471

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819103472

phenom 2 920 => 9000/-

phenom 2 940 => 11500/- excluding VAT

if u r choosing only for gaming go for phenom 2 series , if u r using for workstation should go for corei7 but its more than ur budget

phenom 2 will soon hit the whole INDIAN market , then prices will be reduced soon

in such case u can go INTEL , but sure remember one thing 5 years proofing is impossible in the generation like now .

Gaming means go for

core2Duo E8400 => 8700/-
Asus P5q pro => 9500
PAlit HD 4850 =>9000/-

total => 27200

get Thermal right ultima CPU cooler for 2500/- & Overclock to 4 Ghz ,, u ll worth it

cm 500 will fry ati 4850. Maybe not immidiately. But in due time. Allready someone paired a cm 500w with 4850 and now complaining that its the card's fault. Better off putting some more money and buying a corsair cx400. Active pfc, much better caps, cooling, MOVs, etc. Prevention is better than cure.

Nocm extreme series at all. Jhonyguru exposed that cm 600w is a low end seventeam 500w. But nokytech exposed that cm 650w extreme is also a low end seventeam 500w. cm extreme 460w for a non oc system. Or else something like corsair cx400 or even better vx450.

cx400 is enough. Just like vx450, this is a seasonic OEM- but a stripped down version of the vx450. VX450 costs as high as 4.2k-4.5k now and it used to cost 3.2k ages ago. If you can afford vx450- go for it. Or else cx400w for 3.2k.
