Default Projector for watching movies..

Hi guys...I was wondering if a projector could be used to watch movies and TV channels.
Is it advisable to connect a machine (with TV tuner) to a projector and use it for watching TV and HD videos(movies, documentaries, TV series etc).

Please put forward your views regarding each and every aspect like power consumption, quality, difficulty in watching for long time etc

If you agree with me then what projector or other accessory should I use to make it more enjoyable..

I had researched few months ago when I needed a projector.
See, projectors can't work continuously for a long time. They need a break for cooling. Also, the worthy projectors start from Rs. 50K. You will need to have a good surface, etc. for that.
