what happened to my lapp`s keyboard...???

my friend just borrowed my sony vaio couple of days ago...and i got it back 2day..so when i tried to type some words...the keys weren`t working properly....'5' is written when i press 'i'...similarly some other keys are malfunctioning too, typing the numbers instead of their alloted alphabets...(... what can be the prob???

first of all u should ask ur friend himself(or herself) about wat happend. A similar thing had happened with my dell. the problem was water had fallen on the keyboard. after the support it was perfect so check for these things.

It's just that the numpad on the laptop keyboard is turned on. Find the right FN + key combo to disable it and it will be back to normal. There should be a Num Lock status light on the laptop like on a regular keyboard to check its status.
