Hey everyone will be buying a new PC

finally this weekend need your suggestions. I have budget of 30k for Processor,Motherboard,Ram,Graphic card,power supply,cabinet. Thanks everyone

i thought this was forum for computer stuff so i posted for that anyways stick to the point man i dont want to pick a flame game here,. Anyways you advice on computer config would be appreciated.

yes. AMD too announced price cuts.

Q9650 gets 40% price cut and is now available for $317
Q9550 gets 15% price cut and is now available for $268
Q9400 gets 18% price cut and is now available for $219
Q8300 gets 15% price cut and is now available for $187
Q8200 gets 16% price cut and is now available for $167

E7400 gets 15% price cut and is now avaiable for $117

AMD Phenom II X4 940 is now retailing for 235$ (down from $275)
AMD Phenom II X4 920 will be retailing for 200$ approx.

When Oced e7300 gives performance similar ( or even better than ) e8400.
So why waste Rs. 3000-3500 more on a cpu.

Hey guys got the following quotes today at CTC hyderabad
Biostar Tp45 -Rs 6k no MSI p45 NEo-F
Intel Q8200 -Rs 8800
Transcend 4gb - Rs 1175 x 2
Cm690 - Rs 4200
Corsair 450VX - Rs 4400
Palit 4850 512mb -Rs 8800

No one has got Q9400 damn it, its supposed to be costing 10.5k or so

Any suggestions guys on the configuration and one of the shops which had MSI p45 NEo -F quoted 6500rs

The Q8200 is good CPU. Stick with with. That Biostar board is also good.

The prices seems to be good except :

Corsair VX450W which is Rs. 3900 only.
CM690 is retailing for Rs. 3800.

Be advised, MSI are not good boards. Thinner PCB layer and soemtimes pretty restricted overclocking. Better off with i45 biostar. Biostar has made many good overclocks and its one solid premium board. The distri for biostar is abacus. Make sure to buy the powerchip or elpida IC version of transcend jetrams. The way you can find out is to see the letter P for powerchip or E for elpida on the barcode of the sticker on the ram.- though I prefer spending more on rams rather than on processors like g skills on 4-4-4-12 @t on 1.8~1.9v, but that's your choice. Make sure you are using 4GB on 64 bit OS though, 32 bit os uses only 3GB.

Any idea where i can get CM690 & Corsair VX450W for that price in hyderabad

Also can you guys provide with a configuration so that i can get the quote for the exact configuration. Thanks will be buying soon

Also are the intel prices updated and reflecting in the market i was unable to get q9400 which should be retailing for 10k

Best time wud be March end, when RV730, cheaper editions of HD4850 u can say will hit India, delivering the same performance.

its gonna be Phenom II 920 or 940 black edition
Biostar 790gx
4gb Gskill Pi blacks
Cm 690
Corsair 450VX
skipping the Gpu now will get the gpu later...as it seems ATI RV refresh is around the corner gonna spend 30k on just cpu+mobo+cabby+ram+psu now ...can you please confirm if this is good config

AMD phenom 2 940 by launching in INDIA end of FEB/09 or mar/09 the price of 940 is 12000/- "AMD reduced" check on the newegg

If u get phenom 2 940 for gaming u sure wont be disappointed .

Dont get BIOSTAR mobo its not stable one get the

if u r going for future crossfire

then MSi K9A2 Platinum v2 supports 4 GPUs - 8700/-

if u r not going for crossfire then choose - ASUS M3A79 mobo - 5300/-

both the boards are stable for better OCing , phenom 2 940 needs better OCing board

But both Phenom 920 and 940 overclock to the same, and dun spend the xtra 2-3k on the 940, get the 920.

And get the Jeyway Hummer HA06 780G mobo instead for Rs.5000

But I heard that Jetway mobos heat sink is not so good.

So I think it's wise to get Gigabyte GA-MA78GM-S2H. It's Rs. 5K &
Phenom 920 as you mentioed.
