Dot Problem

hi,
I am Facing an unusual problem it would be great if you people can help me.

My display gets covered in dots (i don't know how to say this any other way)and when i refresh the screen it the dots vanish but same thing occur again in few seconds again.
The problem is fairly constant, it shows its ugly face now and then,like the dots occur for 2 or 3 days then for few days every thing is fine.
My rig is - P D 2.8,Asus P5NeSLI,XFX 7600GT,2GB kingston Val Ram,XP,(kaspersky Latest)

This is most probably due to RAM. try reinserting the RAM. Also if you have two RAM modules, try inserting them one by one and check again.

Check the following first,

1. Graphic Card is properly inserted in its slot
2. Latest proper driver for your graphic card is installed in your system
3. VGA/DVI connector is properly connected to respective port in the back of CPU

if everything OK and the problem persists, then try running your system with another monitor.
