Default New LCD Monitor

I am going to buy a LCD monitor.

I have these choices:
1. 18.5" from Acer
2. 17" from Samsung

The 17" has better contrast ratio and is a little cheaper.

Which one should I go for?

I currently use a Philips 14" CRT.

go for 19" display.

the price difference between 17" and 19" is just 1k and the extra real estate is worth the 1k extra.

If you can fine Dell 1909W 19" LCD Monitor, then buy it. It is one of the best 19" LCD I have seen.

I need to replace one of my CRT for the kids comp.
Can you suggest me 19" 4:3 or widescreen monitor with multimedia capability so it has speakers & should be able to work with TataSky without needing the computer.

Do I have a choice in what I want?
Price range 9000-12000

I don't know for sure number for Acer (it just says:
Acer 18.5" LCD Monitor
Crystalbright with DVI Port)

As for Samsung, the description goes like this:
Samsung 17" LCD Monitor (733NW)
15000:1 Contrast Ratio

I was told the contrast ratio for the acer is 10000:1.

As for other suggestions, suggest me some more please. I hate Dell and Toshiba. Others will work for me. Thanks
