Re: New AGP card
7300GT will give significant performance improvement over 5200 coz
I once had one Fx5200 & 7300GS.
7300GT is 2-3 times faster than 7300GS.

Re: New AGP card
^^
well, yes im From Mumbai (goregaon-east), and i purchased my AGP card (7600 GS) from a really good dealer known as:
Rajendra Computec
Lamington Rd,
98920--84950
2387--2223
2387--4645
At that time the price of my card was Rs.9000/- and i got tat card in Rs.7800/-
-----------
Cheers n e-peace....
========
For the AGP card tat i mentioned above, (7600GS) it requires a separate power cord for it to draw power from the PSU.. and a min of 400W of PSU power rating is required for tat AGP card..
But, how much of System RAM do u hv bro ?? I hv 4x512 MB DDR-I(400) Transcend RAM in Dual Channel Mode...
====================
Cheers n e-peace....

Re: New AGP card
i have a 1gb ddr ram (single)
talked to a friend who had recently checked the prices ..
he suggested a x1600pro at around 4000 , a bit less
these are the ones he told me about
pov7300gt - 3900
gecube x1600pro- 4000
9600pro - 3250
googled to compare 7600gs and x1600pro .. seems like 7600gs is better ..
will call Rajendra Computec tomorrow morning to ask him about the prices ..
just wondering which one is work better with my psu .. i really have no idea . the last thing i want is to get a card and then have to get a new psu

Re: New AGP card
@karan - Even 7300GT requires a seperate power cable to draw power.
If you are going to get to Lamington road anytime this weekend for your gfx card, maybe I can accompany you. I too have some work there.
Do reply.

Re: New AGP card
sure .. will let you know in advance when i plan to go
searched around .. apparently i have a 400w 12v-17A psu
it doesnt meet the min requirements for either a 7300gt or a 7600gs ..
a x1600pro needs a min of 300W-15A .. thats the only one that would suit my system
have i missed something ? and any reviews on the ATi x1600pro .. is it decent ?
will upgrade the whole system in about 6 months time , just needed a decent card to get through till then ..
also , how do i go about switching from nvidia to a ati . just uninstall the drivers from add-remove , put in the new card and install the drivers .. is that enough

Re: New AGP card
Radeon X1600Pro / X1550Pro is a better choice over the nVidia 7300GT. If possible, get 500W power supply. Coz my old X1550Pro used to consume a lot of power and I had to upgrade my PSU. If you've no plans for PSU now, then get the nVidia 7300GT.
All you need to do is uninstall the old drivers and install the new one.

Re: New AGP card
alright .. a bit optimistic now
http://forums.atomicmpc.com.au/index.php?showtopic=264
suggests that both 7300gt and x1600 pro draw about 40w or less at max ..
my agp slot can do that itself ..
the psu shouldnt be a problem..
@anubisX : so you are recommending a x1600 over the 7300gt isnt it ..
will try and get the price quotes from a few shops now
