Default Corsair VX450W or Coolermaster Extreme 600W

I am extremely confused about this dual 12v ail rating which coolermaster one has... I sued this power supply calculator to know the usage of my system..

http://web.aanet.com.au/SnooP/psucalc.php

I will be using Phenom 2 (<---god knows when they will be available) or phenom 9950be with hd4850 graphics card..

Also the efficiency of coolermaster powersupply is just a 70% at typical load.. whereas corsair one has an impressive 85% at full load also... Now coming to 12v rail amps.. according to that calculator i will be needing 30.4A combined (the corsair one with single 12v rail supplies 33A).. dont know about coolermaster one.. (its given that each rail will give 18A.. but we can add them i suppose).. Finally corsair one is 500 more than coolermaster.. So is it worth..

And on newegg the coolermaster has got dismal reviews from customers blasting it for fan sound etc.. (corsair one has got 88% 5 ratings among 220 reviews)..

Should I go with corsair vx450w.. if I overclock a bit (3Ghz).. can it be able to sustain that..

Because the 600w sure is sounding like higher than 450w..

^^ cm 600/650w extreme is a low end rebadged version of seventeam 500 whereas vx450's OEM is a seasonic 500w. Certain psu manufacturers are known to misalign the truth- Cooler master and silly manufacturers like huntkey are one of the. Cm 460w extreme plus or POV diamond 500w is a better choice then cm 500w (model PCAR and PCAP combined). Difference is the vx450 has 80% efficiency on operational temps of 50 degrees celcius Vs. cm 600w extreme testes 70% efficieny on 25 degrees celcius. Corsair has a effective active pfc and cm600w extreme has passive. Heck corsair vx450 has ball bearing and cm600w has sleeve bearing fans. To make cm 600w extreme life more miserable- vx450 uses high quality japanese capacitors and cm 600w extreme doesnt. Its pretty obvious now to conclude that vx450 has lesser ripple then cm 600w. Moreover vx450 has 5 year warranty. If you analyze what you are paying for- vx450 is more of a VFM product AND CM 600/650w extreme PCAR/PCAP models are a rip-off. For a single mid range card config, vx450 will be fine. Remember that an inefficient PSU will not reduce the amount of DC power it gives out, it will increase the amount of AC power it consumes.

there is only one complaint from Cooler master 600 watts EXT power ====> noise

There is no complaint from Corsair VX 450 users !!!

But there are no issues on the stabilization of both products !!! Power function is well & good on both

But PALIT HD 4850 Sonic Needs Surely 500 & above watts if u r using with Quad core

I wont be going for Sonic HD 4850.. as it is 2.5k higher... I dont think even CM Extreme 600W wont be able to cope up with the sonic card.. so i might need further higher psu.. which further increases the price...

So.. I have decided to go with normal HD4850 one and Corsair VX450W..

dont talk crap dood.
the CM600W is MORE THAN ABLE TO RUN A HD4870 SONIC leave alone a HD4850 Sonic.
i've owned 1 and hav run the rig (in my siggy) with a HD4870 Sonic and then later on 2 9800GT in SLi.there were no pwr issues of any sort.

^^ Putting an oscilloscope will show how much ripple the cm extreme 600w goes through with that card. Seen many cm 600/650w lying around dead with melted capacitors. Seeing how much AC power is removed from the socket is another point as well.

Cm 600w extreme is filled with hardly any credibility and with bad reviews. Just because its running now, doesnt mean it will run for a pretty long time:
