Default Networking using Utstarcom WA3002G4 router provided by BSNL

hi, i have the Utstarcom WA3002G4 router provided by BSNL for broadband internet accesss. It is connected to my XP desktop throught ethernet cable and a XP laptop connected wirelessly... i cann access the internet from both the computers.

My problem is that i cannot ping the laptop from my desktop and vice versa...but i can ping the router from both the computers..

I am basically trying to set my desktop and my laptop for LAN multiplayer gaming. is it possible with this router or do i have to buy another router?
