My Pc doesn't Starts

Last Time when I closed windows vista, I was not able to start it again as sounds of fans are coming but nothing starts, neither monitor nor cpu. But fans tends to run continously for ages. my system configuration is
hcl 17inch crt monitor
dual core1.8Ghz cpu
intel945gc-m7 te chipset
1gb ddr2 667Mhz ram(umax)
250GB samsung hardisk 80GB western digital hard disk

unplug the cable connecting the monitor and the cpu and check whether the monitor is asking for an input..( probably a question mark(?) indicating a socket..)..If this happens there is no problem with the monitor...

Then u need to check ur ram.. whether it is properly inserted.. Try re inserting it and check........
