Default Having issues with my PC.

Hi,

I am having a terrible problem with my system.
My system configuration :
Windows XP professional
80 GB seagate hdd
865 GBF Intel board
P4 2.8 Ghz processor

The problem is when I try to copy any big files from my dvd writer, the data gets copying. But in the middle of the copying process, my PC gets rebooted automatically just in a second.

Note : My dvd writer is newly purchased one. I didnt experienced this problem while using it for the first 4 days since purchase.

Steps I tried to diagnose the issue:

Tried with another Ram. Experienced the same problem while copying data from dvd writer.
Tried with another windows 2000 which is already in the same hard disk, but the problem did not appeared. (But the time for copying data from dvd writer becomes too longer)

Scanned the system with Norton antivirus (updated). No threats found.

I would appreciate if anyone could guess what the problem is!

1st try to clean and reinstall your IDE or sata cable & ports on mobo.

your os may be running the dvd drive in PIO mode or there could be some Kind of conflict.

Check in device manager > IDE/Atapi controller > primary or secondary ide channel
for details. Set it to DMA mode. ( applicable for IDE drives )

Your IDe or sata cable may be faulty. try chaning those. If all fails your DVD drive is gone kaput.

i also had the similar problems and changing the Ide cable solved the problem
and also loose contact of Ide cable or Bend in the Pins of the Writer Happens to be root of this Problem
