Question Want to buy a portable HDD

Hello friends,

Please suggest me a good portable HDD with >=320 GB space, which can withstand some drops and it must be USB powered.

If possible please tell me the latest price in Bangalore and some reliable shop where I can find it as I am new in this city. My budget is 5000 Rs.

Regards,

Subrata Bera.

Western Digital Passport & Seagate Free Agent Both are good drives.
They are available in same price range.

I don't know about the 320GB ( may be 3500 ) price but 500GB is available for Rs. 4300 in S.P. Road

Yes. WD and seagate are the best brands for external harddrives in India.

If you want a rugged drive I'd advise you AGAINST WD Element series. The build quality is very cheap (at least I felt so after using for sometime). I'd suggest Transcent StoreJet series which are really very rugged and cheaper than WD Passport series. They are USB powered. I'm not sure about the prices in India now but you should be able to get a 320GB one for about Rs.4.5k.

a 320 GB T'cend portable HDD is for Rs.4200/- whereas the same for a WD elements is priced at Rs.5000/-....

but yes, T'cend's build quality is really good, and the rubbery type of body casing really fits in a good grip in the hands..
