Unhappy Which is better: PALiT HD4870 Sonic or ZOTAC GeForce 9800GTX AMP! ??????

Hi, I read on october issue of diGit, an article called "VISUAL WARS". I saw the FPS of ZOTAC at 1280x1024 (Max detail, 4x AA) it gives 32.83 & PALiT at 1280x1024 (Max detail, 4x AA) it gives 32.06. Which one should I buy?? 'Cause I'll be playing at that resolutions. So, it's better if I go for ZOTAC, eh?? I don't want to shell out extra 7000 bucks. I'll be playing Crysis , CoD: WaW , FarCry 2 at above res. & specs.
What do YOU think, Guys????

4870 has a tendency to be LOWER than 4850 at 1024x768, similar at 1280x1024, but if you go higher, it pwns all cards. At 1080p, its the best card around. Must be something with the no. of shaders I guess.

4870 Any day ! Still is not the right time to buy.Reason. ATi has recently slashed the price on these card and it will take another month for it to reflect on the Indian Market, ofcourse unless you can source it from the US it another story.

at low resolution like 1024x768 , game becomes cpu dependent. 4870 is way better than 9800GTX. u'll see that in future games , the gap widens with 4870 winning.

Well, HD4870 and 9800GTX are made for 1600x1200 and higher resolutions. At lower resolutions, it's usually a CPU bottleneck.

^^Not 9800GTX(+). the 9800GTX is a flop and not bought by most. 9800GTX+ is actually targeted at gamers who want top notch gaming experience at lower resolutions. Its one of the best GPUs for crysis at 1280x800.

HD4850 on the other hand, is targeted at higher desktop resolutions like 1440x900 upwards.

That means they both stay in same price segment (9800GTX+ actually bit costlier) but there are people for each of the two cards.

well, i think you must be talking about 4850 vs. 9800 GTX+. If this is the case you can go for gts 250 which is roll over model on 9800 GTX+. Price is around 9500 for XFX brand and palit 4850 sonic is available for 10500. Yes 4850 (standard) is for 8800 in pune. So if you want to OC yourself and dont care abt warranty you can save money.

9800 GTX+ is history man. It is renamed GTS 250. Anyway HD 4870 is far better than 9800 GTX+ aka GTS 250 . So go for HD 4870 if ur budget permits. BUT as u said that u will run it on 1280x1024 resolution and u don't want to spend extra 7000 or so, go for GTS 250.
