Default DDR 2 Ram help..


I just installed two sticks of 2 gb ddr 2 667 mhz ram on my motherboard.Brand Dynet. However my system shows that i have 3.25 gb of ram installed.My motherboard is Gigabyte s series. model name GA-M61VME-S2 .Any help will be appreciated.thanks

In order to use more RAM than 3.25, you need to upgrade to 64 bit xp. The 32 bit version can recognize maximum 3.25 gb only.

Ok.thank you.But is it that the system shows 3.25 gb but actually uses 4gb or the actual usage is limited to 3.25 gb.

operating system is like a manager to manage resources of the system.
if it is unable to detect Ram more than 3.25 GB then we can not expect to use of more than its limit.
