Default Help Upgrading The Rig


Hi I am helping my friend to upgrade his RIG..

His current rig is
Pentium 4HT 3.4GHz
865 Chipset
128MB of RAM
40GB HDD

His budget is 6K and he want to upgrade his mobo, RAM, HDD....can u guys pls suggest a upgrade within 6k which will support Pentium 4 System.....

lol... the best he can do is save up and collect atleast a sum of 15k to upgrade this.

E2180/ASUS P5K PLVM/2Gb 667MHz RAM/HD4650 = 12.5k.

6k is not the amt of money to upgrade min 10~11k required to upgrade.

max he can do is upgrade in RAM and HDD,
Varad you are short in description of processor(3.4GHz, but what pin types and how old is system). Mobo upgrade is not worth.
If anything like celeron or Dual core is also proposed it will become more than 6K.
For HDD and RAM upgrade he should check in the prices and then decide on his own.

Though he can get a mobo for 478 pin from MSI or Asus (intel 945 chipset based mobo) will cost 2.2-2.5K, its kinda worth as will give you option of SATA and DDR2 RAM. Other than that you do not have any option
Instead of asking here you should check in the market for prices.

I really do not know why are you scared of googling little bit. Check ITwares site for littlie pricing info.
