please tell cheapest 4870 card

Can anyone please tell me which is the cheapest HD 4870 card here in India? I am currently on a budget for 4850 but want to be future proof for atleast 2 years. 4850 won't sustain that much so if I can get a 4870 with a range of 11k to 13k, I will buy it. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

who told u HD 4850 is not future proof , HD 4850 is 10% - 15% less in getting FPS considering HD 4870 sonic .
1) 1 GB HD 4850 will beat the standard HD4870

2) u can add one more HD4850 in crossfire means it outperforms 280GTX

2 X HD 4850 card in Palit cost [9300 X 2 = 18600/-]

Palit HD 4870 sonic = 16800/-

its not a worth 11400 card, good price for it will be 10500, I think I will buy one xpertvision one for 8500 and add accelero s1 to it, that will be really COOL for me and for card too

Edit: what monitor do you use ? 9800GTX+ drops performance (actually, HD48(5/7)0 gains performance with higher resolution, and at HD, the RV770 cards easily beat it.

Your best is either a HD4850 or a 9800GTX+ in that budget. Both are good and neck to neck in performance.

If you want more, you have to pay more. Thats the simple rule.

As paranj says, HD4850 is your best bet. Its even faster than 9800GTX+ if you go to higher resolutions, above 1680xsomething, with the performance gap closing on touching 1280x1024 and reducing more and more with HD4850 overtaking 980GTX+ at highest resolutions. For a 1440x900 monitor, I recommend HD4850 since the performance will be roughly equal, but HD4850 will be cheaper by 3K, at Rs. 9,500 for Palit Sonic Edition, which has good overclock headroom.

^^Actually, for retailers, palit ordinary and palit sonic costs the same since the later replaces the former. but to clear palit ordinary stock, sonic was priced higher in India (in usa its below 170$). I just guessed that old stock must have been over by now and perhaps in christmas season sonic will get a price cut. else it should be around Rs. 700 more than 9500.

Oh.. his budget is 13K , that means u would buy him a HD4870 for that price.

sonic is not much worth for its value it has only good cooling, standard palit HD 4850 has good cooling too.

sonic is not much worth for its value it has only good cooling, standard palit HD 4850 has good cooling too.

sonic has few advantages also such as better power management system that increases cards life(if it matters to you ) and is also factory overclocked to settings till he point where normal card can go. So it can get a overclock on that too to reach 750 on core and 1150 on memories. Uses better RAM too from samsung too!!!

hey i am not sure dude , actually in my place palit distributor is there motherboard price and 9600GT price were reduced & also 600/- reduced in HD 4850 , he told the next will be 4870 sonic ???

i can tell surely after a week , after he confirms with the enterprises
