Default Bsnl modem LAN port is not working. What next?

Hello

I have a bsnl-provided modem (Sterlite SmartAX MT882) whose Lan port is not working. When i use it to connect it to the computer, it says Limited or no coonectivity (The modem works fine when connected with the Usb port)

I now need the lan port to connect it to an external device (net phone) that uses Lan ports only.

So should i replace the modem or can it be repaired? Are there any optons to connect the Usb port to the external Lan port ?

Thank u & Have a nice day,
Hemanth

Your modem is absolutely fine, the problem is that its max supported speed is a lot less than your LAN speed(10/100/1000 LAN ports are dreadfully fast) but your net connection can't occupy even 1% of those speeds, so you can utilise net no problem.

Actually no net connection(hence modem) is as fast as today's LAN ports, they are designed for PC to PC connectivity and file sharing, right click LAN icon, click Properties, uncheck the box notifying you about low connectivity to get rid of the message, you can use net fine.
