Unhappy boot problem


my pc is only able to boot from cd/dvd's when the hdd is unhooked(unplugged)
please help, how can i fix this problem

is ur HDD set as slave adn ur Optical drives as Master ?? (in BIOS)

First check the boot priority in the bios

ok one more think plug ur hard disk and cd/dvd drive back and check in bios that ur cd/dvd drive and hard disk are detecting or not.

Also see which drive is primary or secondary

had a similar problem with my 865GBF mobo......i had upgraded its BIOS once from windows based installer, after that this strange prollem occured.....If i pute CD/DVDdrive and HDD on different IDE cables then CD/DVDdrive was not shown in boot order, tried changing all the options and jumper setting but no use, the only thing that solved the prollem for me was to put hard disk and CD/DVD drive on the same IDE cable

i think the problem is solve, i just reset the bios to is default setting's
by the way i have different ide cables for my hdd and dvd writers
