How old is the drive?
What happens after you insert a CD into it. Does it keep blinking the front panel LED forever?
Does ur explorer hang after that if you try to access it

Go buy a Lens cleaner and run it in your drive after reading the instructions. Also mind that your CD's and DVD's are in healthy state.

Don't use scratched CD and also some sort fo cleansing solution for CD/DVD come, use it to prevent tiny dust particles from entering your PC

Exclamation Re: Combo Drive unable to read CD's!

@Patkim, Drive is about 4 yrs old and it cant read CD's whatsoever . The LED doesnt blink forever. And when I click on the drive, it gives me the message, pls insert a disk. Whats bugging me is it can read DVD's without any probs, even scratched dvd's . And this sh*t drive cant read newly burnt or old cd. I tried Samsung, Sony, TDK, Mbaer, MMore, Eurovision and other unbranded Cd's but the issue still persists. Its just not recognising any type of CD's

@Mrintech, used Lens cleaner. Still problem is not solved.
