Thumbs up what psu for 9800GTX?

Does CM-PCAR-500W psu enough for BFG 9800GTX 512 Mb?
This psu gives 18A on 2 rails, max wattage of 360w.

With the following specs will it run well?

Intel E7300 2.66Ghz @ 1066 FSB
Intel D945 GCNL @ 1066 FSB
Kingston 2GB Ram
Seagate SATA HDD 250 GB x 2 @ 7500RPM
CDVDR RAM Drive (Combo Drive)

Online power wattage calculators give and estimated power usage of 378w, this PSU gives 70%+ efficiency. the GFX card takes 28A from total 36Amps but if we calculate 70% of 500w PSU is 360w.

this confuses me so I need help in this regard.

PLZ help.

thanks in advance

Yes go for CM-EP 600W as it has 2 PCI-EX power connectors.I have this PSU and to tell you its just a tad bit noisy(i took care of it by replacing the default fan by a new one for 800 bucks from Itwares)

I'm also very confused about all this. I was thinking about taking corsair hx 620 to power the 9800 gtx.

now what should I do? pick up a new PSU that comes with two pci-e connectors?

I'm buying a zotac 9800 gtx amp! edition. it's coming with two 2xMolex connectors. So it shouldn't be a big problem. (I think)

Anyway I'm taking a hx620

some say that crossair psu works fine only with pure sine wave ups. check this point before buying.

Then why not to go HX450W it's enough for it and it will save some money also.

Cheapest workable solution is CM EP 600 watt.
But maybe you would be on the lower side when overclocking with this one.

no way I am not that type of guy to sit and close my eye on my own request.

I was getting advises from friend in city and forums to which one gets better.

Sorry for not replying.....

------------------------------------------------

Now to work.

I am thinking to

9800GTX or 9800GTX+
E7300 2.66 @ 1066 FSB
CM extreme 600W PSU

Today by 4pm from near PC market.

NOTE:- PLZ dont push me for HD4850 Coz its not easy to in pakistan.....Mostly out
of stock. But if I get it available I will buy it.

As for Alternates is there any similair to 9800 Gtx or 9800 Gtx+ in price.

thanks to all

bilal

BFG 9800GTX needs only ONE 6pin connector
Corsair 450 is the best PSU you can buy in that budget
Ditch CM 600 ..get Corsair with a lot more efficiency than any Cooler Master Extreme PSU

and no way is 450VX=Cooler MAster 600
in tests it delivered 500 + watts which it aint even rated for.

Nope, CM EP 600W has more than enough power for it.

Thats the case with all Corsair PSUs. They are efficient and reliable. They always under-rate their PSUs.
