New E228WFP 22’’ 1680 x 1050 LCD monitor with OLD PC problem

I have recently bought E228WFP 22" Widescreen LCD monitor (max resolution 1680 x 1050) but I can’t use it as I my pc display maximunm only 1024*768 resolution
I m using
-Intel Pentium 4 processor
- Intel D845GLVA motherboard
I think it has in built graphic card

So what can I do for getting 1680 x 1050resolution
In my previous job place we are using extended connector for using new LCD monitor with an old CPU but I couldn’t get what exactly it was
Can anybody help me to solve this problem

there is only one way.....Get a new graphic card.
every card has its own limit in resolution.

845 chipset is way back in 2002. Hence it may not support higher resolution & it has onboard intel graphics controller. Mine 845 mobo dont hav pci slot so no graphics card, check urs.
