problem with my sony DVD drive.

my sony dvd drive (DVD RW DW Q-120A) which i bought 2.5 yrs back,is not reading files greater than 20mb or so. I cannot copy or open the files. It is reporting I/O device error.

but no problem with smaller files of size less than 10mb. they are working fine..
also there is no problem when i write any contents on the dvd. the only problem is with reading files over a specified size.
i tested the dvds on other computers. its working perfectly.
so what would be the problem with my drive?

Hand that drive over to the service center. I guess there's nothing anyone can do here.

Send it for repairs and pray its a small mechanical problem..

Try reflashing your firmware from www.liggydee.cdfreaks.com or give it to the service centre. Most likely it will get solved if you flash the firmware.

your problem cable and chance the data cable.than go to BIOS setup.

My Sony DVD writer not reader self writed cd & DVD.
But those it destroy my some CD & DVD.

i checked the drive in my friend's system and it is working fine. but the problem persists in my system. i can burn data but cannot copy or open any file. what would be the problem?

help me plz....
