As of today, Intel has advantage in every price point. Their core2 architecuters are making life really difficult for AMD.

btw, AMD's share dropped another 2% in desktop CPU market this quarter.

I have been AMD lover for long and I do hope that they will be back in full form in a year or two.

If they get to the performance level or Intel's core2quad by next summer, I will go for it else my next upgrade will be Intel.

I'd read about AMD 780G Chipset with onboard ATI Radeon™ HD 3200 Graphics that made AMD boards the best choice boards for small and low profile HTPC builds (without the need for an additional graphics card). Has rival Intel come up with such onboard graphics?

^^Enter G43/G45....

Intel is the best and will be the best. AMD was the market/performance ruler of yesterday but now, they are just 'meh'.

Lolz which world do you live in ? G43/G45 comes nowhere close to 780G. It can't even beat 780V in graphics performance. As for cost, its sky high.

YEs that's true, but fact is, the gfx industry is dominated by INTEL, 40%+ is Intel's share due to their onboard solutions. People mostly buy onboard gfx mobos tht's y

Thats because several people believe that a C2Q Q9550 on an Intel Original DG31PV motherboard is the fastest performing rig in the world, without realizing the importance of a graphics solution and expansion slots on the motherboard.

Is it still true that AMD Phenoms are "true" quad cores (based on monolithic multicore design) as opposed to Intels multichip design?**

Or is it a yesteryear saying? Has Intel come up with a "true" core design lately?

Agreed that Intel has the larger market share, but what about performance? Can someone post performance results for our comparison?

AMDs X4s gets kicked by Intel's C2Ds in gaming.... leave alone the Quads. Intel is the ruler.... atleast now.
