Upgrading/Replacement Suggestions
I haven't been using my PC for over a year now as I was not at my place. So now, When I plug it, it doesn't work. The Repair guy tells me, the following has gone kaput.
~ SMPS, MotherBoard (MSI RS 480), 1 of 2 500MB Trancend RAM.
What I have right now,
- AMD ATHLON 64 2800+
- 300GB IDE HDD (which I'm planning to use as external)
- And the keyboard/mouse, DVD RW, Cabinet .. stuffs
For
- It'll be used for running the Adobe PS3, Dreamweaver, PHP, MySQL and few small apps (simultaneously).
- It should be able to run forthcoming games like GTA IV, NFS Undercover. (Thats the only two game series I play.)
- Ofcourse, it'll run 24x7 and "might" get 3-4 Hours sleep in a week.
I need suggestion (with prices if you can) for these, and should work with the athlon
- Motherboard
- GFX card
- Memory (I wonder if I can get the spec to support 4GB RAM). Also, note that I have a 512MB right now.
- SMPS
- No specific budget, but considering my need, it should to be reasonable. No unnecessary power needed.

Re: Upgrading/Replacement Suggestions
1x2GB Transcend DDR2 667MHZ RAM
ASUS K8N-E
Palit HD4850 512MB GDDR3
And ya, for the PSU, get either the Corsair VX450W or CoolerMaster EP 600W.
And before you ask, the 512MB memory wont work with this new PC

Re: Upgrading/Replacement Suggestions
Thank you @rajkumar, @KPower.
I did a bit of calculation and found that it comes around 45k in the end
Palit HD4850 - 12k
Transcend 2GB DDR 400MHz - 3k
PowerSafe Silver 500w SMPS - 2k
ASUS K8N-E(Max. 3GB) - 5k
19" / 20" Display - 15k
Speakers - 5k
320 GB SATA HDD - 3k
Total - 45k
Now, before I buy, does anyone here think I should consider buying a new PC instead ?

Re: Upgrading/Replacement Suggestions
HD4850 is just 10k and not 12k.
19" ViewSonic - 9k
19" Dell - 12k.. for 15k you may get 22"
These are the current market prices and the price u mentioned is bit high....
And yes for 45k you buy a new PC which outburst ur current config....
If u wish to get a new PC, then here is the config
E7200 - 5.9k
MSI P45 Neo F - 5.9k
2x2GB DDR2 800MHz - 4k
Palit HD4850 - 9.7k
ViewSonic 19" - 9k
WD 640GB AAKS - 3.9k
Altec Lansing BXR 2.1 Speakers - 1.2k
PowerSafe Silver 500W SMPS - 1.7k/CoolerMaster CM450W - 2.3k
Zebronics Cabinet - 1.2k
Around 43k......

Re: Upgrading/Replacement Suggestions
You guys are quick , thanks again . So I changed my plan then. Here's the price list I came up with.
Intel® Core™2 Duo E7200 - 6k
Coolermaster EP500W - 3k
MSI P45 Neo F - 6k
Palit HD4850 512MB GDDR3 - 10k
2 x 2GB DDR2 800Mhz - 4k
WD SE16 AAKS 640GB - 4k
Altec Lansing BXR 2.1 - 1.2k
Samsung SH-203 - 2k
Zebronics Bijli - 1.7k
22" LCD - 15k
Logitech Gaming G1 K/M - 1k
Comes at around 54k . (I had rounded off prices of some components)
Now, I called up few places for the prices but most of them told me they'll call me back. The only dealer (Vertical Systems 0422-4512204) who gave me the price list told me, "Palit HD4850 512MB" costs something below 3/4k, is it correct ? Also another problem I came across was, all of 'em either did not one had Western Digital or they didn't have the 640GB model.
With Seagate 500GB, Viewsonic 22", Vertical systems quoted me price below 40K. How's it ?

Re: Upgrading/Replacement Suggestions
Thank you all for your suggestions !
I need another small favour. My old PC box is now gives me "the Stare" every time I pass by it and I was hoping to give the poor soul a second life and maybe give it to someone. But I can't spend much on it as I have already spent bit too much on the new one.
So I have concluded
Mouse/KB - Keyboard/Mouse - 1k
PowerSafe Silver 500w SMPS - 2k
2GB DDR2 800Mhz- 2k
250GBHDD - 2.5k
-----------------
MSI P45 Neo F - 6k
Palit HD4850 512MB GDDR3- 10k
Now the prices of the Motherboard and GFX card are bit high, can someone recommend bit cheaper ones. (Please do mention its limitations)
Also, I wanted know if it would support 800/667Mhz DDR and if it could be connected to 22" LCD (1680x1050, 60Hz Max). Just inquiring, both are optional.
Thanks a bunch and anxiously waiting for replies

Let me elaborate,

I have taken suggestions of @rajkumar_pb & Psychosocial and concluded this price list
Keyboard/Mouse - 1k
PowerSafe Silver 500w SMPS - 2k
2GB DDR2 800Mhz- 2k
250GBHDD - 2.5k
-----------------
MSI P45 Neo F - 6k
Palit HD4850 512MB GDDR3- 10k
Now the prices of the Motherboard and GFX card are bit high, and I was expecting some cheaper ones. (Please do mention its limitations)
Also, I wanted know if it would support 800/667Mhz DDR and if it could be connected to 22" LCD (1680x1050, 60Hz Max). Just inquiring, both are optional.
Hope you get the clear picture now
