Default Entry Level Graphic Card

I am not a hard core gamer.

I like to play mainly sports game like

CRICKET 2004
FIFA 2004
NFS UNDERGROUND

Nothing Else higher than that.......

I am a bit confused i choosing appropriate card for playing these type of games

I have two choices in mind

64 MB XFX GEFORCE MX4000 - RS 1550
128 MB XFX GEFORCE FX5200 - RS 2500

I HAVE AMD 2200+ SEM 256 DDR 333 RAM 80 GB HDD. ASUS A7V400 MX MOBO with inbuilt unichrome graphics

DIGIT FEB REVIEW rated XFX fx5200 128 very low
So i thought buying a 64 MX4000 which is much cheaper will give same preformance

So Please suggest me a good card for 1500 - 2500

please dun buy graphic cards which will always fail to satisfy you..why do you want only fifa 2005 and cricket 2004 to run on ur pc?
dont you want fifa 2006 and blc 2005 to run in ur pc?
if you are investing now..pls invest on a better graphic card..which would give u good performance for atleast 1 whole year..u will get a radeon 9600 non pro for 5.5k or a radeon 9550 for 5k which are definately betetr than the cards u mentioned.
mind you these are not cards for hardcore gamers...just casual gamer as u seem to be..its worth investing once in a year than to invest twice in a year..
hope this helps.

naveen, the MX4000 card might give a performance similar to that of FX5200, BUT...it will run games in directx8 only. it was designed long before directx 9 came out...so u wont be able to savour all the eye candy of DX9.
But then again, the FX5200 is not a very good card. my suggestion is you go for a Radeon 9600 card. it might cost a bit more than the FX5200, but its way better. also, if u decide to buy the radeon 9600, make sure its NOT radeon 9600SE, but simple 9600. the reason is that the SE version has a 64-bit data bus, which is like a choked highway between ur gpu and graphics memory. the plain 9600 version has a 128-bit bus, which should be good enough for ur needs...

hope this helps,
chaitanya
