Graphics Card Confusion....

my s/m configuration is

P4 2.4GHZ
INTEL D845GRG
384MB DDR RAM
GeForce MX 200 (64MB)
160GB HDD
Pinnacle TV Tuner Card
Creative Inspire 4400

i want to upgrade my graphics card.....
NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200 (256MB) is in my mind....
is this AGP 8X or 4X???
whether 8X card is downward compatible with my 4X AGP motherboard...
is this card is DirectX 9.0c compliant???
is there any better card for this config (video memory shud b 256MB and there should be PIXEL SHADER)
my budget is 4-5K....

anyway i want to play the game Path of Neo... dats y i'm upgrading the card......

Go for nvidia 6600 or 6200 rather than FX 5200.

For 4k get a 6200 or 6600LE......they both r AGP 8x but they will be backwards compatible.....but they won't work @their max....also for a low-end AGP 8x card running with a 4X slot u don't need 256MB memory, 128MB should be enough....
Also u better upgrade u r system memory to atleast 512MB ........

get a 6600 non gt for less than 5k or even 4k. Its the best agp on u can get. Yeah it will work on ur agp4x port as 8x cards r backward compatible with agp4x nd only 4x not 2x. 6600nongt is 10 times better than a 5200 as its more future proof nd perfomrms much better. Its a SM3 card nd lets u play any game @800*600@med~low.

is this spec compatible with my PC...??
is this the correct model/no (NVIDIA GeForce 6600 LE)......? (any other specific number)
in this can u explain what is RAMDAC, Display Interface (DVI x 1).....?
is 256MB memory compatible with my motherboard or shud i opt for 128MB...?
or which memory shud be better in terms of performance and compatibility...?

That's the wrong card. Don't ever get the 6600LE or any card that has LE in it's name. Get the 6600. (Just 6600. There's no LE or GT after the name)

The card would sit perfectly on ur system nd it there is no problem if u use 128 MB card or an 256.
Also dun ckeck the RAMDAC. Its the standard 400 MHX for all nvidia cards from GF4 to FG7.
Also as drvarunmehta said, dun get the LE version. Its gud for nothin. LE can be also read as LOW END(may be). A normal 6600 256 is lot better.
Any AGP8x cards can be used with ur system.
