Plz suggest me a graphics card
I hav Intel 865G chipset, 3.06Ghz P4 processor , 1 GB DDR1 RAM
(pretty ancient i know)
Can anyone tell me 'bout a graphics for my pc
my budget is Rs 5000
remember 865G does not supports PCIe.

I think before a graphic card u need to change ur motherboard then get xfx 8600gt rs.4500

the xfx version has heating issues.
The asus oc version has great vfm.
If you want agp version then go for 7300 it will cost around 1.5k......

I would always recommend you to purchase a new motherboard instead of a agp card as it would be more future proof....!

There is one ancient GFX for this ancient PC ... Geforce4 MX.

Anyway, I would also vote for a new mobo.

Get a XFX 630i(3.2k) and a 2GB RAM(1.8k).... for 5k...
The onboard gfx of the Mobo was better. And save money and get atleast HD4670 atleast inorder to ensure a better gaming...

865g board supports agp slot so go for ati 3850 agp version for 5.5k , it it the best possible solution , otherwise change your motherboard .

Hey i got the same config as yours , i have been waiting for a DX10 based AGP card. Recently came to know ATI HD4670 & HD4650 comes in AGP with DX10.1 support. Which is great news , but its hard to get in chennai I am trying....

My Config:
P4 2.8ghz HT
865GBF (bios uptodate)
DDR400 1GB RAM (two more free slots, planning to put 1+1gb)
250gb SATA
sony and liteon dvd writer
samsung P2350 LCD
500wts cooler master

Hey don't even think of buying a graphics card with PCI/AGP slot for tat mobo. Better get a new mobo and but a graphics card. Or if u can't afford both then go for a mobo which has better inbuild graphics. Many mobo from XFX, ASUS, Biostar hav gr8 inbuild graphics tat will let u play all recent games but in med settings.
