Anyone here tried Alky Project ? (DirectX10 in XP)

Many of you know about alky-project.
Though they have stopped their development but they once tried to bring DirectX10 in Windows XP.

Have anyone tried this? I am curious to know the result, if any!

I've tried VAIOXP and Alky along with the Vista Sidebar that has been ported to XP. I haven't tried DX-10 though.

wats the use dude?......... most of xp users don't have high end graphic card or RAM or req config.........i think this wouldn;t be so much useful exept for some game freaks using XP with high end configuration

There are more gamers (with high-end rigs) using XP rather than Vista. Heard of XFire anytime ?? Join it and see some profiles on it. You will find that 55-60% of the registered users are on XP.

Two of my friends did, worked pretty well, sometimes shows errors when launching FRAPS, otherwise its O.K.

Their configs are
Q6600 both.
MSI P35 Platinum Combo/Intel DQ35JO.
2GB/4GB DDR2 800MHz RAM.

How can you be sure? Even I tried alky for few days but all was in vain.

Is it DXDiag tool which shows directX version as 10 ?

Is it some in-game settings which clearly shows that a DX10 feature is enabled in XP (like, in Bioshock DX10 Lighting is enabled in Vista but not in XP)

In my trial of Alky under XP-Sp2, Bioshock didn't enable that settings but in vista (without alky of course) it is enabled and by default on.

Simply putting those dll files doesn't mean it's working. Because when I tried, all the games ran smoothly but neither DXDiag nor Bioshock could prove that DX10 is enabled under XP.

HELP about alky i cant play ragnarok valkyrie
because the gameguard detects the file vkernel32.dll in alky for windows in my folder what can i do?

dont know abt this project but the vista games really work well in XP (except titan chess )

I'll get the screens after some time(exams coming up on me and my friends)

Dxdiag shows DX10

Bioshock DX10 features work

Gears of War DX10 AA does not work

Crysis allows to choose Very High

Its a bag of mixed results, but its not actually DX10, its more like a emulator running DX10 under DX9.

So ultimate bottom line is : it sux.
Better get Vista or be satisfied with DX9.
